So, I'll be leaving for Texas on Monday, which, as you ought to know, is New Year's Eve. I'll be making it there in the early afternoon, so I'll actually be able to have New Year's Eve with my brother (since I think my parents are going to a shindig that evening). You know, providing I have a LONG nap before any festivities start, lol. I put the finishing touches on this plaque I painted for my best friend. I'll be giving it to him when I visit in a week and a half (leaving there directly from Texas), and if all goes well, he's going to LOVE IT. I mean, I don't normally get all that excited about the things that I make, but I am absolutely pleased with it. I must say it was an absolute pain, considering the black paint started to peel off when I was putting the varnish on. Nightmare. Seriously, it put another hour and a half onto the time it took me to finish the darn thing.

Outside of finishing that, I'm mostly getting the apartment in order. I'm not sure when my roommate's gonna be back from visiting her family, so I have to make sure I take the garbage out, run the dishwasher, throw out any perishable food that'll expire before Jan. 19th (or eat it, ), etc, etc. I'm also playing with Vistaprint and getting some random stuff from it! Basically, I bought a Living Social voucher thingy a couple months back, and it gives you $50 worth of products for $10. So, I'm making pens, and journals, and mugs, and lots of stuff! It's especially great NOW, because they have 30% off on everything, and for whatever reason they let you combine the two offers! So, essentially, I have to get $72.50 worth of products before I pay a cent over the original $10. Isn't that awesome?! I'm pretty sure I'm getting get my protesting alien on something, although I haven't decided what... *shrugs* We'll see what I end up deciding.

My sleep schedule is all messed up, so I'm a little nervous about my 4:15 alarm on Monday. I spent all last night (up to 7 this morning) talking to my best friend, which was nice since I spent the good majority of it painting that plaque for him, lol. Oh, I'll put pictures of that up later, since I don't know if he ever looks at my dA account and would rather be on the safe side. Providing I wake up, my trip is going to be productive and fun. Considering I live in a place where the cost of living is 70% or so higher than the national average, I wait until I visit my family to go clothes shopping. So, I'm going to get new jeans, and shirts, and maybe some slacks, and all kinds of fun stuff! Besides that, my family does Christmas in January (since travel is terribly expensive before then and it's easier for us college kids to get home after the holidays), so I'll be getting presents! I've also just caught the Christmas bug, which I hadn't really had on actual Christmas. Iono, something about spending Christmas alone just doesn't make it feel all that... Christmas-y. *shrugs* I'm coming with wrapped gifts in my suitcase, and boy do I hope they fit! I'm bringing my winter boots with me (since I'll be in Nevada for almost two weeks), and that means I'm losing a LOT of space in my carry-on. It's going to be an adventure getting all this stuff I'm getting home, lol.

Anyways, I'm thinking about sorting through my Europe pictures on the plane to Texas, since I'll have a lot of time and not much else to do. I hope everyone's winter holidays were fun, and I hope your New Year's are even better! Toodles for now, lovelies!
