Description
To begin with, this took me about 50 hours from sketch to weathering... It's my anniversary present to my boyfriend (johnotronz), and he ("Jambro") is the amazing PlaidMan! Bestowed with the power of Dankness by the mighty Plaid-apus, PlaidMan goes around making the world a little bit danker!
I will mention that I used a lot of brushes from the internet (none from dA), and textures (a lot from dA) and I do not remember where I got them... So, I greatly apologize to anyone whose stock I used without crediting because I got most of them when my brain was half-dead.
About the process, I sketched the air blower, cityscape, roof top, and character separately. I proceeded to use Pentool/Pathtool in Photoshop, which I had recently discovered and is the most amazing thing ever, for the line art, then assembled the parts. After that, it was a game of coloring, texturing, finding a barcode off of Google Image (once again, no link, and I greatly apologize), adding the text at the top, and weathering it.
I am EXTREMELY proud of it, because it looks absolutely identical to my boyfriend and his Ibanez AS75T guitar. The cityscape is close enough to the Chrysler and Empire State buildings, but it's a completely inaccurate depiction of the NYC skyline.
